About me
Liz Phipps Soeiro (she/her/hers) holds a BSEd from Lesley University, an MLS from Simmons University, EdM from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is currently a PhD student in the Urban Education, Policy and Leadership program at UMass Boston. She is the Director of Library Services for Boston Public Schools, the founder of the Cambridge Book Bike, and has won a number of awards including Library Journal "Mover & Shaker", and School Library Journal School Librarian of the Year: Hero of Family Outreach in 2017. Her work focuses on developing criticality in children and educators, justice based educational practices in libraries and schools, and empowering children to take action in the world around them through grassroots and civic initiatives. She believes every student deserves a school library that fosters curiosity, wonder, affirmation, self edification, criticality and rest.
